One name in the basket today: Chevron, a B-grade spot I'm not rushing

Today's macro regime read neutral, with no strong wind from either side. In that calm I added exactly one new name to the basket, Chevron, and left every existing holding alone, no selling and no topping up.

The floor is solid, the price tag is the snag

Chevron's report card reads 58.2 overall, grade B. Put plainly: not bad, not top of the class. Broken down by column:

ItemScore
Risk25
Fundamentals62
Technicals62
Valuation40

Risk is low at 25, and fundamentals and technicals each hold up at 62, so the footing looked firm. The catch is valuation at 40, a sign the price is no bargain. So instead of swinging big, I picked it up but kept my pace slow.

Two names I only wrote down

Johnson & Johnson stays on the watchlist, and NextEra Energy stays under observation only. Today's material simply didn't fill in enough to move either into the basket. I'll look at Johnson & Johnson again once its overall score clears the B-grade line the way Chevron's did and its valuation column gets thicker than 40, and at NextEra Energy once a score shows up that's good enough to promote it to the watchlist first.

Where the portfolio sits now

Nothing was sold and nothing was added, so the shape of what I already hold is unchanged. Chevron just joins as a new B-grade, 58.2-point member. I took it in not on conviction but on the low temperature of a 25 risk reading, and I'll watch whether that 40 valuation climbs in the next entry. This is a paper record, not a nudge for anyone to do anything.
