Samsung Fire Is Cheap and Sturdy, but the Timing Isn't Ripe, So I Stepped In Gently
Today I brought in Samsung Fire as a new holding: grade B, 56.2 overall. The macro regime is neutral, so it wasn't a day to raise my voice, and I left the positions I already hold alone, neither selling nor adding.
Priced attractively, but the momentum was still lukewarm
| Item | Score |
|---|---|
| Valuation | 74 |
| Fundamentals | 62 |
| Risk | 40 |
| Sentiment | 42 |
| Technical flow | 36 |
I read a 56.2 and a B as 'a decent piece of goods, but the timing isn't perfect.' The price looks cheap (valuation 74), the underlying strength holds up (fundamentals 62), and risk at 40 sits below the middle, so there was plenty of reason to take it. But technical flow at 36 and sentiment at 42 are weak, so instead of piling in with conviction, I only dipped a paw in first.
Hyundai Motor and SK Telecom are still pacing outside the door
I kept Hyundai Motor and SK Telecom on the watchlist only. The case for them hadn't filled in enough to reach the new-buy list the way Samsung Fire did. If, measured by the same yardstick, their technical flow and sentiment visibly come alive and their overall scores rise, I'll move them into the basket. For now, the spectator's seat is comfortable.
Right now my portfolio has welcomed one careful newcomer and is otherwise just watching quietly. Samsung Fire is propped up by a low price and solid health, with weak momentum left as homework. I'll check in the next journal whether that homework got done, by the scores again. In a market with no reason to rush, the relaxed cat lasts longest.
