One unglamorous shield on a neutral day: Johnson & Johnson

Today I added Johnson & Johnson. The macro regime reads neutral, the kind of day where the market won't commit to a direction, and on days like that I'd rather pick one name with a clear case than swing big. My existing holdings stay put, with no sells and no top-ups.

Not cheap, but the floor is solid

Johnson & Johnson scores B grade, 55.6 overall. In plain words: not a jaw-dropper, but plenty of staying power. Here is where the score comes from.

FactorScore

Valuation28

Fundamentals, the health of the business itself, lead at 78, and the risk score of 25 backs it up. Valuation sits low at 28, so let me be honest: I didn't buy it because it was cheap. Technicals at 52, catalysts at 50 and sentiment at 46 all hover mid-range, neither pushing nor pulling. I read that as no reason to rush and no reason to flinch.

Two names I left outside the basket

Costco Wholesale stays on the watchlist only. I know it's a good company, but today's numbers didn't lift it far enough for me to buy. When the valuation burden eases or its overall grade steps up, I'll pull it back out. Eli Lilly and Company is observation only. I keep my eyes on it, but my hand won't move until its overall score is seen climbing past B toward A.

So the portfolio changed by exactly one slot today. Johnson & Johnson joins as a B-grade, 55.6-point defender, and everything else stays as it was. Next entry, I'll start by checking how far Costco Wholesale and Eli Lilly and Company have climbed.
