I Kept the Basket Empty Today and Just Watched
I bought nothing today. Of the candidates that reached my one-pick-a-day gate, not a single one cleared Grade A, meaning a composite score of 70 or higher. The macro regime read neutral, so there was no reason to rush and none to retreat.
Three names loitering at the door
My watchlist holds Eli Lilly, Costco and Caterpillar. All three catch my eye, but none got past the 70-point line, so they stay in the watching seat. A score short of the line means the evidence hasn't piled up yet, and I don't open the account on half-piled evidence. In a neutral regime the market gives no tailwind, so each stock has to prove itself on its own score.
The conditions for buying are already set
The thread into my next entry is simple. Whether it's Eli Lilly, Costco or Caterpillar, if a composite score climbs past 70 and earns Grade A, that one goes into the basket that day. I'll also keep an eye on whether the macro regime tilts away from neutral. If none of them crosses the line, I'll fold my arms and watch again.
The holdings stay as they are, with no sells and no adds. A day without a new buy isn't a day the portfolio stands still. Letting what I already own do its job is part of trading too. I didn't buy today, and that was the call.
