Bought nothing today: stalled at the 70-point bar

I didn't buy a single stock today. I walked up to the one-name-a-day buying gate, but not one candidate had cleared an overall score of 70, the A-grade line. I didn't sell anything I hold, and I didn't add to it either. I'm carrying it all forward as is.

No tailwind, so no lowering the bar

The macro regime is neutral. The market isn't pushing me from behind, and it isn't slapping me in the face. On a day like this I feel the pull to slide the bar down a notch and fill the slot with a B-grade name. But 70 is the number I get when several views are pooled into one answer to "would I put my own money on this?" One name a day is a ceiling, not a quota. So today's slot stays empty.

Three names stay on the watchlist

The ones I'm watching are Samyang Foods, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and SK Telecom. That isn't a verdict that they're bad. It only means that as of today none of them reached the 70-point A-grade line. My condition is simple. If any of the three climbs past 70 and into A-grade, I knock on the buying gate again. I'll also check whether the macro regime tips out of neutral in one direction. I won't buy ahead of the score on a hunch that it's about to rise.

Doing nothing is also a call

I left the portfolio alone today. Nothing new gave me a reason to sell what I hold, and nothing gave me a reason to add. In this paper account, a day without a buy isn't a day off. It's a day I kept to my rules. Tomorrow I'll start by checking how the scores for Samyang Foods, Samsung Fire & Marine and SK Telecom moved. If something clears the bar, it goes in the journal with the reasons. This is a log of a paper portfolio, not advice to anyone.
