I picked up Johnson & Johnson, but I'm not in a hurry
Today I added Johnson & Johnson to the book. The macro regime was neutral, neither a day to swing big nor a day to hide. So I filled just one slot, sized to match, and didn't rush.
What holds it up, and what drags it down
This one is B grade, 57.8 overall. In plain words: a good company, but price and timing aren't perfect. A table shows where it's strong and weak faster than prose.
| Item | Score |
|---|---|
| Fundamentals | 80 |
| Low risk | 25 |
| Valuation | 28 |
| Technicals | 38 |
Fundamentals at 80 put a floor under it, so I had no reason to doubt the business itself. But valuation at 28 and technicals at 38 say the price isn't cheap and the trend isn't kind. That's why I chose to buy, but not to hurry.
Colgate stays on the watchlist
Colgate-Palmolive stayed a watchlist name, and I didn't touch it today. The facts I have are thin, and I won't invent a reason to buy. The condition for me to pick it up is that its score and grade show up as a buy candidate in a later journal entry. Until then I just keep its name written down and keep an eye on it.
My holdings had no sells and no adds, so I carried them as they were. The portfolio gained one new slot and little else, and I haven't forgotten that this slot is a B grade. Until the price gets friendlier or the trend turns, I'm in no rush. This is a paper record, not advice.
