One HD Hyundai Electric slot, and a lot of looking on the side

Today I picked up HD Hyundai Electric. The macro regime reads neutral, a day when the market gives no strong conviction either way, so there was no reason to swing big. That one name was my only new buy, and I sold nothing and added nothing to what I already hold.

Why I took a stock whose score is only half-supported

HD Hyundai Electric came in at grade B, 55.1 overall. That reads as "decent, but not clean." The split is easiest to see in a table.

ItemScore
Fundamentals85
Valuation72
Technical momentum22
Sentiment30

Fundamentals at 85 and valuation at 72 say the business is sturdy and the price is reasonable, and that is my reason for owning it. Technicals at 22 and sentiment at 30 say the chart and the mood aren't helping right now, so I'm not rushing the timing. I only dipped a toe in rather than loading up.

Two names I'm only watching

Shinhan Financial Group and Korean Air stay on the watch list again today. The evidence simply hasn't piled up enough to hold them. Before they go in the next journal, I want their overall scores to climb past the B-grade neighborhood where HD Hyundai Electric sits, and above all I want to see technicals and sentiment visibly lift.

The portfolio now is one new name stacked on what I already hold. On days with no pressure to change anything, leaving things alone is a decision too. Whether HD Hyundai Electric's two weak legs come alive is the first number I'll check tomorrow.
