One slot for Chevron, with the 42-point valuation left in plain sight
The only new position I took today is Chevron Corporation. The macro regime is neutral, so I had no reason to press harder or pull back, and my existing holdings stay exactly as they are, with no sells and no adds.
I bought the steadiness and priced the flaws separately
Chevron scores 58.2 overall, a B grade, which I read as flawed but sturdy enough to hold up. What drew me was the risk score of 25, low enough to mean fewer jolts, with technicals, fundamentals and sentiment all above average.
| Item | Score |
|---|---|
| Overall | 58.2 (B) |
| Risk | 25 |
| Valuation | 42 |
| Catalyst | 50 |
A valuation of 42 says the stock isn't cheap, and a catalyst of 50 is neutral, so there's no spark yet. That's why I didn't swing big and took a single slot for the steadiness.
Two names left on the watchlist
NextEra Energy and PepsiCo I only watched today. The yardstick I held up to Chevron was low risk and above-average health, with price and catalyst still empty. For these two, I'd buy only once the overall score climbs past the B-grade line and the valuation and catalyst boxes fill in. Until then I just keep the names written down and check the numbers again.
Where the portfolio stands
It isn't the day to shake the board. The holdings stay put, and Chevron starts from a middling 58.2. In the next entry I'll check first where the 42 on valuation and the 50 on catalyst have moved. This is a paper-trading log, not a recommendation to anyone.
