The chart is still lying down, but price and catalysts pulled me into HD Korea Shipbuilding
Today I picked up HD Korea Shipbuilding as a new position. The macro regime read neutral, a day when the market gave me no strong conviction either way, so rather than juggling several names I quietly took just one. My existing holdings stay as they are, with no sells and no top-ups.
Price and catalysts hold up, but the chart is still lying down
HD Korea Shipbuilding scored a B grade, 57.4 overall. Valuation at 82 and catalysts at 72 are what pulled me in, and fundamentals at 66 were decent enough. Technicals, on the other hand, are weak at 22, and sentiment is lukewarm at 42.
| Factor | Score |
|---|---|
| Valuation | 82 |
| Catalyst | 72 |
| Fundamentals | 66 |
| Risk | 50 |
| Sentiment | 42 |
| Technicals | 22 |
To me, 57.4 reads as 'a company worth owning, but the timing isn't perfect yet.' Risk sits right in the middle at 50, so I bought, but I didn't rush.
Two names I'm only watching
Hyundai Motor and Doosan Enerbility went onto the watchlist only. The evidence hasn't piled up enough for my hand to move. I'm waiting for a day when price action turns, sentiment loosens, and their scores climb together. Once that's filled in, I'll open the ledger again.
For now the portfolio is simply the old book plus one new line, HD Korea Shipbuilding. Whether technicals at 22 find a floor and sentiment at 42 warms up is next entry's homework. Until then I'll sit on this one calmly, but with my eyes open.
