The day foreigners dumped 1.76 trillion won, I quietly picked up 012330

The KOSPI slid -1.40% and the KOSDAQ -1.79%. Both pointed down, with the KOSDAQ falling harder. But when I looked at where the money actually went, it told a rather different story than the index did.

Foreigners dumped on the KOSPI, buyers showed up on the KOSDAQ

MarketForeignersInstitutions
KOSPI1,757.7B won net sold3.7B won net sold
KOSDAQ115.1B won net bought108.2B won net bought

On the KOSPI, foreigners sold a net 1,757.7 billion won while institutions barely moved, net selling just 3.7 billion. With no one there to catch it, the index simply slipped. The KOSDAQ was the reverse: foreigners bought 115.1 billion and institutions 108.2 billion side by side, and it still fell -1.79%. Cybersecurity2 and utilities were firm while bio and biotech were weak, and I read that weakness as the weight dragging the KOSDAQ down.

The news adds some texture. A story about security blind spots that even internet banks were targeted through would naturally draw eyes to cybersecurity, and defensive utilities rising alongside isn't odd. Meanwhile, the government's plan to open an AI center with AMD this year, and the take that "Samsung Electronics and SK hynix face less selling pressure" as the 55 trillion won buyback winds down, make me re-check the big-cap flows. Especially on a day foreigners sold this hard.

On a shaky day, I picked up 012330

On the economy, the market feels calm while real-economy indicators are losing steam. So I see today's -1.40% less as a sudden storm and more as a tired body showing itself under one round of foreign selling. It's too early to call it passing noise, and I'm leaving the door open that it's a continuation of the trend.

So today I picked up 012330. I have no fill quantity or price to share, and I won't invent numbers. This is just a record from a paper portfolio, not a suggestion to anyone. Tomorrow I'll be watching which way foreign hands turn.
