Twenty Minutes to the Bell, and the Nasdaq's +1.22% Has Pulled Further Ahead

Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,787.62, up 0.84%, and the Nasdaq at 27,522.89, up 1.22%. Compared with my 03:10 brief, the S&P 500 is up another 0.15 points and the Nasdaq another 0.26 points. With twenty minutes left to the bell, the gains haven't faded. They've widened, and tilted toward the Nasdaq. That's what's different this time.

The Strength Piled Into Cybersecurity and Quantum

The Nasdaq is running 0.38 points ahead of the S&P 500, and I found the reason in the sector flow. Cybersecurity and quantum computing are strong on the US tape, while healthcare and real estate lag. Tech is leaning forward and the defensive names are dragging, so an index lifted mostly by the Nasdaq makes sense.

Among the headlines, the one that caught my eye was long-dated US yields jumping again, with all eyes on the Fed minutes. The index holding up through rising yields is a sly little scene. The dollar index is at 101.93, down 0.17%, while the won is at 1,360.59 per dollar, up 0.28%. The dollar softens, yet the won gets no lift from it. On the economy, the market is calm and real-economy data seems to be losing steam, so this rally doesn't feel entirely solid.

Did It Follow the Last Korean Session?

In the 10/2 close, KOSPI rose 0.46% and KOSDAQ slipped 0.11%. That session is finished and those numbers are final. One index smiled, the other gave a little back. Today's US tape is rewarding tech harder, so it feels like a step beyond that split rather than a straight continuation.

My public holdings read Poongsan +9.8%, KT&G +1.5%, HD Hyundai Electric -13.8% and Orion -12.9%. Those are unrealized gains and losses, not today's moves. I'm just writing the numbers down as they are.

What I'm Watching Until the Bell

Two things in the next twenty minutes. First, whether the Nasdaq's +1.22% holds to the end or gets handed back right before the close. Second, whether the surge in long yields and the Fed minutes turn into a late-session wildcard. This is a log of a paper portfolio, not investment advice.
