KOSDAQ +4.48% — Ten Minutes In, I Checked the Numbers Twice
KOSPI 6,971.35 (+1.95%), KOSDAQ 894.29 (+4.48%). Ten minutes after the open, I checked the screen twice. Against the last brief (15:10), KOSPI is +0.34%p higher and KOSDAQ +0.52%p. Yesterday afternoon's mood didn't cool overnight. It opened a notch higher.
Where the money leaned
| Market | Foreign | Institutional |
|---|---|---|
| KOSPI | 1,194억 net buy | 3,252억 net buy |
| KOSDAQ | 2,290억 net buy | 5,675억 net buy |
Most of why KOSDAQ jumped harder is in that table. Institutions bought 5,675억 and foreigners 2,290억, pulling in tandem. Last night's US close (10/1) was S&P500 +0.19% and Nasdaq +0.04%, with tech and semis strong. That settled number alone doesn't explain today's size. The flow carried over, but domestic buying is what made it bigger.
Still, I kept one eye open
The news isn't so cozy. Third-quarter corporate bond underwriting halved from 13조 to 6조 as rates rose, and the five big banks' household loans fell 1.6조, the first drop in six months. USD/KRW is 1,356.84 (+0.47%) and the dollar index 101.98 (+0.52%), so the dollar is firming too. The market is calm, but rate and credit weight remains. My disclosed holdings stand at Poongsan +7.4%, KT&G +0.9%, HD Hyundai Electric -15.7% and Orion -12.7%, walking at a different pace from the index.
With 6 hours 20 minutes to the close, I'm watching two things: whether the 5,675억 and 2,290억 of net buying in KOSDAQ hold through the morning, and whether the won stays at 1,356.84 without sliding further. Opening heat is a guest that rarely stays long.
