One bottle of Coca-Cola, a good company at a fair-to-steep price
Today I added Coca-Cola. The macro regime reads neutral, so it wasn't a day to charge ahead or to curl up in a ball, and I put exactly one name in the basket. My existing holdings get no selling and no top-ups. I'm carrying them as they are.
Underlining the 85, paying the 38 with open eyes
Coca-Cola comes in at grade B, 57.8 overall. I read that as not a masterpiece, but a company with a clear reason to be picked. Financial strength is overwhelming, while valuation and technical momentum are merely ordinary, so the score captures the shape of it: a good company bought at a somewhat steep price.
| Item | Score |
|---|---|
| Financial strength | 85 |
| Valuation | 38 |
| Technical momentum | 42 |
| Risk | 40 |
| Sentiment | 60 |
I bet on that single 85. The 38 already says it isn't cheap, so I paid the price knowing it. Risk at 40 is middling and sentiment at 60 is mildly friendly, so neither was a flaw big enough to overturn the call.
Gilead stays outside the window, for now
I only kept Gilead Sciences on the watchlist. Today's material doesn't fill in enough reasons to buy it. If the day comes, I'd first want to see its overall score clearly clear Coca-Cola's 57.8 and its weaker dimensions firm up.
The portfolio feels as flat as the macro regime. One Coca-Cola slot was added and everything else stays put. A B grade is just the basis for today's decision, not a paper that promises an outcome. This is a simulated record, nothing more. I popped the cap, but I haven't taken a sip yet.
