Chips Wobbled, Staples Stayed Calm

US markets wore two different faces today — the S&P500 eked out +0.23%, propped up by materials and staples, while the Nasdaq slipped -0.20%, dragged down by China's chip shock and the swirl around Nvidia's circular-deal worries. The real economy and currency backdrop still look fine, but with AI and semiconductor risk flaring up again, I'm choosing to just watch today — nothing added to the book.
