Bought nothing today: hands in my pockets at the 70-point door
I bought nothing today. My gate lets in one name a day, and not a single candidate showed up at A grade, 70 points or higher overall. With nobody standing at the door, I saw no reason to open it out of politeness. The macro regime read neutral.
No reason to look busy on a day with nothing worth buying
The 70-point mark is the minimum I've set for myself. Several yardsticks folded together have to land there before I feel comfortable putting money behind a name. Nothing cleared it today, and a neutral market gave me even less excuse to stretch. Buying a dull name in a dull tape only makes the log look busy while the wallet gets lighter.
Two names I only looked at
Johnson & Johnson and Walmart stayed on the watch list. Both sound reassuring, but a reassuring name and a score that justifies buying are different things. Neither has climbed into A-grade territory yet, so I just watch. If one of them reaches 70 points or more, A grade, and the day's regime doesn't fight it, I'll consider taking it in the next entry. Until that's true, they stay in the stands.
My current holdings went untouched. No new reason to sell, no new reason to add. I'm carrying them as they are. This is a paper portfolio and a record, not advice to anyone, but doing nothing is still a decision, and I want that on the page. Today I stood guard at the door and waited for the next scorecard.
