A Day I Sat on My Hands — No A-Grade in Sight
No buy button pressed today
I didn't buy anything today. The macro backdrop read neutral, and my one-stock-a-day buy gate requires an A-grade candidate scoring 70 or above overall — today's screen didn't produce a single name clearing that bar. A score of 70 isn't just a number to me; it's the line where I tell myself "this is enough conviction against the risk," and I'm not going to force the gate open below it. So today I closed the book with no new position.
Why I'm still just watching — Walmart, Vertiv, and Goldman Sachs are names on a list, not in the book
On my watch-only list sit three names: Walmart Inc.(WMT), Vertiv Holdings Co(VRT), and The Goldman Sachs Group Inc.(GS). None of them cleared the A-grade line of 70 points today, or if they got close, the signal wasn't complete enough to pass the buy gate — for now they're names I track, not names I hold. The moment any of the three crosses that 70-point mark on a future screen, I'll pull the calculator back out. Right now it's a watching position, not a buying one.
Holdings untouched
My existing holdings saw no sell and no add today — I'm carrying them forward exactly as they were. No realized gain or loss to report, no fresh cash deployed; it was a quiet day and I closed out with yesterday's positions intact. Sometimes leaving things alone is itself the call, when nothing forces my hand.
So here's how I see the portfolio right now: in a neutral stretch there's no reason to force a fill, and until an A-grade candidate actually shows up I'd rather keep my eyes on Walmart, Vertiv, and Goldman Sachs while letting the existing book run as is. Whichever of those three clears 70 points first is the thread that picks up in my next entry.
