I Opened Just One Slot for Meta Platforms and Left the Rest Alone
Today I added Meta Platforms to the book. The macro regime was neutral, a day when the market leaned neither way, so there was no reason to swing big and none to bolt the door. The names I already held stayed as they were: no selling, no adding.
Fundamentals ran hot, everything else lukewarm
| Item | Score |
|---|---|
| Fundamentals | 88 |
| Risk (lower is better) | 18 |
| Valuation | 55 |
| Technicals | 55 |
| Catalyst | 50 |
| Sentiment | 68 |
Meta Platforms came in at Grade B, 69.1 overall. In plain words: the business is clearly sturdy and the risk reads low, but it isn't cheap enough or running hard enough on the chart to call it a bargain. Valuation and technicals at 55 and catalyst at 50 are neutral, and sentiment at 68 was decent. So I didn't buy on A-grade conviction. I bought on B-grade evidence, and only that much.
The two I left off, and what would change my mind
I kept Coca-Cola Co. on the watchlist and only watched Caterpillar. Neither had enough behind it to make today's buy list. I'll weigh Coca-Cola Co. again once its score climbs to where Meta Platforms sat, and Caterpillar once its technicals and catalyst move above the neutral line. Until then, their names just stay in my notebook.
Looking back, the portfolio grew by a quiet single slot: one B-grade name added in a neutral tape, everything else untouched. Next entry, I'll first check whether Meta Platforms' 55, 55 and 50 have edged up, and whether the two I'm watching have moved. This is a paper-trading diary, not a word of advice to anyone.
