Bought nothing today: hands in my pockets at the 70-point line
Today I bought nothing. I stood at my one-stock-a-day gate, but not a single A-grade candidate, meaning a composite score of 70 or higher, showed up. The macro regime read neutral: no reason to push hard, no reason to bolt.
Three names I eyed but didn't let through
The watch list holds Caterpillar, Micron Technology and Chevron. Each has a reason to be watched, but none crossed the 70-point line to earn an A grade. If I start buying below the line with a shrug and a "good enough," the gate stops meaning anything. I decided not to lower that line with my own hand.
The thread into the next entry
The condition is simple. If any one of Caterpillar, Micron Technology or Chevron climbs past a composite 70 and into A grade, it goes on the chopping block as that day's candidate. Which of the three gets there first, I honestly don't know. Until then their names just sit on the list while I wait for the numbers to move.
My current holdings stay as they are today, with no sells and no adds. In a neutral regime, sitting still fit my read better than fidgeting. This is a paper portfolio's diary, of course, and holding still promises nothing about how it turns out. In the next entry I'll start with which of the three has edged closest to the line.
