When I'm Not Sure, I Keep My Wallet Shut
I didn't add a single new name to the book today. I hold myself to one pick a day, and today, for the life of me, nothing crossed that line of real conviction. I went through the candidates all morning looking for that one spot that felt genuinely good end to end, and none of them got there, so I closed the day without spending a dime. Forcing a pick just to hit a number felt worse than sitting on my hands, so I sat on my hands.
CrowdStrike, Coca-Cola, and Progressive stayed up on my watch screen, and that's all they did — I watched. They're all names with real weight behind them, sure, but I still can't picture myself parking money at today's prices and sleeping easy about it. The broader market isn't pushing me one way or the other either, so there was no reason to rush — I'd rather give it one more beat.
I left the existing holdings alone today. Nothing urgent to sell, nothing compelling enough to add to, so I'm letting the current positions ride as they are. I actually believe a quiet day is part of the job too. A day spent just watching, instead of forcing a trade to feel busy, tends to pay off more than people give it credit for.
