Why I Didn't Buy Anything Today
I didn't add anything new to the portfolio today. I scanned through the candidates this morning, but nothing cleared the bar of conviction I need to spend my one buy of the day on. The broader market was reading neutral too, drifting without picking a side rather than committing to a direction, and on days like that I'd rather sit on my hands than force a trade. So the buy button stayed untouched all day.
Procter & Gamble, Palo Alto Networks, and UnitedHealth Group all stayed pinned to my watchlist. Procter & Gamble is still the steady name it always is, but I couldn't find a specific reason to step in right now. Palo Alto Networks keeps catching my eye, yet the setup hasn't matured enough to give me real conviction. UnitedHealth Group is much the same story — I just don't think it's time to pull the trigger yet, so I kept watching.
The existing holdings stayed exactly as they were, no selling, no adding. Forcing myself to fill that one-buy quota and getting stuck in an awkward spot seemed worse than simply waiting for a cleaner setup to show up. So the portfolio closes today looking just like it did yesterday. I'd rather stick to the discipline than chase activity — in the end, that's what protects the account.
