A Day I Held at the Gate

I didn't add anything new to the book today. I run one rule for myself — one new name a day, tops — and today not a single candidate cleared my seventy-point bar, so the gate stayed shut. Nothing in the current holdings gave me a real reason to sell or add either, so I just carried yesterday's positions forward as they were. All told, today ended up a watch-and-wait kind of day, hands folded.

The overall market mood sat neutral today, nothing pushing hard enough in either direction to lean on. Hyundai Motor, Samsung Fire & Marine, and KB Financial are names I keep circling back to, but none of them have earned enough conviction yet to clear the line I've drawn for myself, so they stay parked on the watchlist. Walking in on half-formed conviction just isn't how I operate, so today I chose to keep watching instead. I'll hold off until those names actually move closer to the gate.

So the portfolio looks pretty much like it did yesterday. Rather than force in new names, I'm holding my existing positions as they are and waiting for one of those three watchlist names to actually clear the bar. There's no rush here — I'll just sit tight until the conditions line up on their own.
