No New Names Today, Just Holding the Line
I didn't add a single new name today. My rule is one new position a day, and only when it clearly earns its spot, and today nothing in my candidate pool cleared that bar. So I sat out the new-buy window, and I'm not trimming or adding to anything I already hold either — everything stays exactly as it was yesterday. Forcing a name in just to fill the slot felt worse than leaving it empty, and that's the call I made today.
CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, and Costco all stay on my watch list for another day. All three are companies I respect and keep half an eye on, but at today's prices I didn't find enough conviction to actually put money down. It's not that the market is flashing danger either — the backdrop reads pretty neutral — so this feels more like a moment to wait than to push. Stepping further in at these levels would need a clearer trigger than what I'm seeing right now.
So today my portfolio just quietly held its ground. I'd rather keep cycling through the watch list than force a name in, and wait for a sharper picture to show up. Sitting still is a decision too. Nothing in what I already hold needed touching given how things are trending, so I left it alone, and I'm in no rush to chase the next buy.
