A Day My Hand Didn't Move — Just Watching

Today I didn't make a new buy. I run by one rule — only one new name a day — and I went through every candidate that crossed my desk, but none of them cleared the bar with enough conviction behind it. Rather than force something mediocre to the top of the list, I just closed my wallet and called it a watching day.

The market mood itself was neither shaky nor giddy — just stuck in that in-between gear. On a day like that, I'd rather pull my hand back than drag in a name for a half-baked reason. Procter & Gamble, CrowdStrike, and Bank of America are all still on my radar, but none of the three has sharpened into a picture clear enough to pull the trigger on, so they stay on the watchlist again today. No rush — I'll keep sitting with them a bit longer.

My holdings go untouched today too — no selling, no adding. On a wishy-washy day like this, standing still is its own decision, not a lack of one. Right now my portfolio is catching its breath without a new card added, and I don't think that's a bad place to be. Not filling a slot just because it's empty — that's one of the rules I actually keep. Resting is part of trading too.
