I Didn't Buy Today — I Cleaned House Instead
I didn't add anything new today. I ran through the candidates this morning, but none of them cleared the bar I hold myself to for conviction — the one that lets a single name pass my one-buy-a-day rule. Instead, what actually got my attention was tidying up two positions I already held.
The name I'd bought on the AI-server PCB demand thesis got fully closed out — 10 shares, gone. The loss had widened to about -12.8%, and honestly my conviction in that demand story itself had faded, plus the position was such a tiny sliver of the book (0.1%) that there was no real reason to keep dragging it along. I also trimmed Orion, selling 1 share. Talk of China's consumption recovery dragging on kept chipping away at the original thesis, so before the -12.6% loss grew any bigger, I chose to cut the size instead.
Hyundai Motor, NAVER, and Shinhan Financial Group stayed strictly on the watchlist today. With the market drifting sideways without much conviction either way right now, I didn't see a reason to rush into names I'm only half-sold on. All told, today leaned more toward trimming than buying, and having cleared out the losing spots, I've got a bit more room now to wait for the next real opportunity.
