Chips Are Carrying This Session While CPI Worries Wait Their Turn

Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,670.34, up 1.04%, and the Nasdaq's at 26,376.52, up 1.13% — I'm watching the screen and exhaling a little. That's another 0.11 points on the S&P and 0.10 on the Nasdaq since my last brief about ninety minutes ago, so the earlier climb is just carrying on. Chips and AI names are doing the pushing while fintech and biotech lag, and honestly, given August CPI came in hotter than expected and reignited talk of another Fed hike, the market's taking it pretty calmly — AI money seems to be shrugging that worry off for now. Unlike yesterday's (9/11) Korean session, which closed rough at KOSPI -1.76% and KOSDAQ -1.95%, today's US session is going the exact opposite direction. I'm holding Duksan Neolux at -12.1%, ConocoPhillips at +7.5%, Microsoft at +25.4%, and NVIDIA at +2.7% while I watch this play out, and with about an hour fifty left until the close, the thing to watch is whether the chip strength holds all the way.
