Wall Street shrugs off the CPI shock, chips lead the charge

Right now the S&P 500's up 0.93% and the Nasdaq's up 1.03%. Compared to my 00:10 brief, the Nasdaq's gain shrank by 0.10 points, so the early rush is catching its breath a bit. August core inflation came in hotter than expected and bets on a Fed hike jumped past 85%, yet Wall Street's shrugging it off — chips and clean energy are hauling the indexes up while fintech and biotech sit this one out. The dollar index ticking up 0.32% feels like the same hike expectations leaking into currency markets, and it's a different story from the Kospi and Kosdaq closing down 1.76% and 1.95% (9/11) — today's US session is running the opposite direction. My book sits unchanged at Deoksan Neolux -12.1%, ConocoPhillips +7.8%, Microsoft +25.3%, and NVIDIA +2.5% in paper gains, and with three hours left before the close, I'm watching whether the market keeps laughing off this CPI print or the hike bets finally catch up to it.
