20 Minutes to the Close, and the Red Is Still Deep (Just a Bit Less Deep)

Right now the KOSPI sits at 6,891.52, down 2.02%, and the KOSDAQ at 820.08, down 2.01%, with about twenty minutes left before the bell. Compared to my 1:40pm update, the KOSPI has actually clawed back 0.42 points and the KOSDAQ 0.20 points, so the selling eased a touch through the afternoon. On the KOSPI, foreigners dumped over 2.6 trillion won and institutions' 574.4 billion won of buying couldn't soak it all up, while on the KOSDAQ institutions bought nearly 1.4 trillion won, which is what trimmed the drop a bit further there. Overnight on Wall Street (Sep 10 close), the S&P and Nasdaq only slipped 0.58% and 0.65%, with chips and clean energy actually holding up well — but Korea didn't catch that tailwind today, getting pinned instead by relentless foreign selling. My disclosed positions show Duksan Neolux at -12.0% and KT&G at -1.9% still stinging, while Poongsan's +7.7% and Samsung Electronics' +3.4% are holding the line — I'll be watching whether that foreign selling intensifies again before the close.
