Oil and US Treasury Yields Shove Kospi Down to the 6,800s

Right now Kospi's sitting at 6,862.19, down 2.44%, and Kosdaq's at 818.39, down 2.21%. Compared to my last check-in, Kospi's slide barely budged but Kosdaq dug in another 0.56 points deeper — so in this back half the damage is clearly tilting toward Kosdaq. Wall Street closed lower overnight (9/10: S&P500 -0.58%, Nasdaq -0.65%), and today's headlines are pinning the deepened selloff on a jump in oil prices plus jitters over long-dated US Treasury yields piling on top of that. On Kospi foreigners dumped over 2.6 trillion won, and on Kosdaq institutions bought nearly 1.4 trillion won and still couldn't stop the bleeding. In my own holdings, Microsoft's +24.4%, Nvidia's +4.8%, and Poongsan's +7.9% are sitting in the green while Duksan Neolux is the lone red mark at -12.3% — with an hour fifty left before the close, I'm watching whether this oil-and-rates pressure keeps rattling Kosdaq's flows.
