Stocks Take a Breather — AI Doom Talk Couldn't Touch the Chips
Today the S&P 500 dipped 0.41% and the Nasdaq 0.37%, US stocks basically taking a breather. What stood out was the eerie 'self-improving superintelligence could wipe out humanity' chatter making the rounds all day — yet chip and AI names shrugged it off and stayed firm anyway. Materials and biotech dragged the tape down a touch, while AI money kept flowing right where it usually does, doom talk or not. Currencies and commodities are behaving themselves too, so the overall mood stayed calm, and today's dip reads more like a pause than any real change of direction. On a quiet day like this, I added CEG to my paper book, riding the power-and-nuclear theme back into the spotlight — however AI reshapes the world, something has to keep the lights on for it.
