Steeper than my last check-in — oil above $100 drags KOSPI under 7,000

Right now KOSPI sits at 6,921.51, down 1.85%, and KOSDAQ's at 815.39, off 1.80%. Compared to my 10 a.m. brief, that's KOSPI sliding another 3.25 points and KOSDAQ another 4.08 points in what felt like no time at all — the drop got steeper fast. Overnight Wall Street logged its third straight losing session (as of the 9/9 close) on oil crossing $100 a barrel and rising US Treasury yields, and today's local market seems to be riding that same wave, with Korean government bond yields climbing across the board and pulling KOSPI below the 7,000 line. Flows split though — foreigners sold about ₩434.8bn worth on KOSPI while actually buying ₩264.6bn on KOSDAQ, and the won held fairly calm, down just a touch to 1,339.21 per dollar. My book still shows Microsoft +25.0%, NVIDIA +5.8%, Freeport-McMoRan +14.3%, and Amazon -10.2% in unrealized terms, unchanged — what I'm watching into the close is whether more oil/yield headlines show up and whether that foreign selling eases off.
