KOSPI Stays Green But Loses Steam Into the Close
Right now KOSPI sits at 7,049.48, up 0.77%, while KOSDAQ is pinned just under flat at 821.96. Compared to my last brief, KOSPI's gain shrank by 1.57 points, so whatever push we had this morning is running out of steam heading into the close. Foreigners and institutions still poured over ₩2.5 trillion and ₩2.6 trillion respectively into KOSPI, yet the index gave back ground anyway — meanwhile KOSDAQ saw both groups selling, a real split in mood. With the won weakening past 1,345, department store names caught a bid on inbound-tourism and luxury-spending hopes, and Moody's upbeat read on Korea's growth quietly added some support underneath. I've got Microsoft, Nvidia and Freeport-McMoRan sitting in the green while Amazon stays red, and into the close I'm just watching whether this fading rally keeps fading.
