Yields Cooled Off, and New York Widened Its Gains
It's 2:10pm ET and the S&P 500 is holding a +1.14% gain with the Nasdaq up +1.58%, still cruising into the final stretch. Compared to my last check-in, both indexes have nudged even higher, and it looks like the bond-yield relief that kicked off the rally is still carrying buyers through this hour. Energy and cloud names are leading the sector tape — GitLab hitting a 52-week high felt like a nice snapshot of that cloud strength — while copper, miners, and industrials are lagging behind. Yesterday's Korean session (9/3) was a mixed bag, with the KOSPI barely up and the KOSDAQ sliding, but today's US session shrugged that hesitation off entirely. With about an hour and a half left before the close, I'm watching whether this yield calm holds and whether energy and cloud keep leading the charge.
