A Quiet Day, and I Just Watched
S&P500 rose 0.51% and the Nasdaq gained 0.44% today. Word got around early that Google's new AI model narrowed the coding gap, and on top of that came Korea's GGGF kickoff, talk of physical and agentic AI leadership, plus the industry minister pitching 'M.AX' supply-chain cooperation at the G20 — so there was a quiet buzz around AI all day. That buzz seems to have spilled into strength in cybersecurity and energy, like money was quietly leaning toward AI infrastructure buildout and whatever protects it. Copper, minerals, and gold miners, meanwhile, just sat there limp — makes sense when the market's this calm and rates/credit conditions are this friendly, nobody felt the urge to huddle in safe havens or commodities. Zooming out, this doesn't feel like panic or euphoria, just a mild, steady stretch, so today's gain reads less like a standalone event and more like one more quiet day in the same drift. So today I didn't pick up anything — just watched from the sidelines.
