Kospi Flips to +1.53% After a Weak Open, Foreign Buying Turns the Tide

Right now Kospi sits at 6,912.37, up 1.53%, and Kosdaq's right there with it at 837.65, +1.30%. Funny thing is, right after the open the market actually slipped toward 6,840 as institutional selling pressed it down — but then I watched foreign money pour into both boards in size and the whole mood flipped over. Wall Street's Nasdaq jumped 1.57% overnight, so I guess that tailwind just took a little longer to finally show up here. What stands out on Kosdaq is that institutions turned net sellers, yet foreign buying steamrolled right over that. In my own book, Samsung Electronics at +4.8% and HD Hyundai Electric at +8.4% are sitting in unrealized gains, while KT&G at -0.4% and Isu Petasys at -5.2% are still in the red. Into the close, I'm watching whether this foreign buying wave keeps rolling, and whether that early institutional selling comes back to rear its head.
