Nvidia Earnings Fuel a Nasdaq Sprint, Widening the Gap
Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,723.53 (+0.62%) and the Nasdaq at 26,474.07 (+1.32%), both climbing, but the Nasdaq has pulled +0.53%p further ahead than it was at my last check (22:40), widening the gap between the two. Word that Nvidia's earnings gave the Dow and Nasdaq a lift makes this widening gap feel far from coincidence. Yesterday's (8/27) Kospi +1.53% and Kosdaq +1.30% close set a warm tone, and today's US session looks like it's picking that up tech-first — copper/minerals and cybersecurity are running hot while energy and utilities lag, so the money's tilt is pretty clear. With Fed Chair Warsh about to make his Jackson Hole debut, the dollar index ticked up a touch too, and rate conditions still feel friendly for now. My positions — Densan Neolux -7.4%, Amazon -10.1%, Alphabet -9.0%, Eaton -7.2% — are still sitting in the red, and into the close I'll be watching whether Warsh's remarks and this Nasdaq acceleration hold up.
