Nvidia's tailwind lifts me up, then the BOK's rate hike makes me catch my breath

The real hero of today's rally is Nvidia's overnight earnings blowout — Wall Street itself (S&P 500 and Nasdaq at the 8/26 close) barely twitched, so this bounce is pure Korea-premium riding on chip-stock fumes. Then the Bank of Korea threw a curveball, hiking rates for a second straight month to 3.00%, which knocked the gain briefly back into the 1% range; the KOSPI held its ground as institutions bought a hefty 761.5 billion won to outmuscle 114.8 billion won of foreign selling, but the KOSDAQ just sat there as both foreigners and institutions sold.
