Inflation Bites Again — Stocks Slip Further This Afternoon
Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,659.36, down 0.23%, and the Nasdaq's at 26,026.75, off 0.48% — both sinking deeper than where they were an hour ago. July's PCE print came in hotter than expected, stirring up Fed anxiety, and that's pushed the dollar to its biggest jump in four weeks while gold got knocked down 1.3%. Yesterday's Kospi close, up 0.97%, hasn't carried its good mood over into today's US session. Right now copper/mining and gold-miner names are holding up while cybersecurity stocks are sagging, so there's a real split in the tape. My positions in Isu Petasys, HD Hyundai Electric, Orion, and Leeno Industrial are still sitting in the red, and with three hours left before the close, I'm watching whether this inflation scare keeps spreading.
