Kospi's flying, though its toes just curled a little

Right now the Kospi sits at 6,841.75, up 1.47% with about twenty minutes left before the close. Compared to my 1:40pm update, that gain has shrunk by 0.55 points, so the morning's momentum is clearly catching its breath this afternoon. Chip stocks pushed the index up ahead of Nvidia's earnings, but with foreigners dumping over 3.8 trillion won worth of shares while institutions soaked up more than 1.17 trillion, that early heat has cooled off a bit. Kosdaq, meanwhile, is sitting in its own little world, down 0.02% and going nowhere. Overnight in the US the S&P rose just 0.32% and the Nasdaq 0.66%, so today's Kospi move ran well past that on its own steam — and with gold and copper miners strong overnight, my Freeport position (+27.6%) is feeling a little extra sturdy. With twenty minutes left, I'm watching whether institutions can keep absorbing all that foreign selling.
