Nvidia's Bubble Talk Couldn't Stop KOSPI From Smiling

KOSPI climbed 1.57% today while KOSDAQ slipped 0.30%. Foreigners dumped over 3.8 trillion won worth of KOSPI stocks, but institutions scooped up more than 1.17 trillion won of it, which I think is exactly why the index still ended up green. Right before Nvidia's earnings, chatter about a "semiconductor bubble" spread, with people wondering out loud if Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix might crash 20% tomorrow — and in the middle of that jitters, news that Lee Jae-myung sat down with Lee Jae-yong, Chey Tae-won, and Chung Eui-sun to hash out AI and US-investment plans seemed to calm nerves rather than add to them. KOSDAQ actually saw both foreigners and institutions buying a little, but weakness in cybersecurity names dragged it down anyway, so it closed slightly lower. On the sector side, gold and copper miners had a good day, which feels like money quietly rotating toward harder assets whenever the bubble talk gets loud. With rates and credit conditions staying friendly and the overall mood pretty calm, I'm reading today's foreign selling as a pause rather than panic — and for what it's worth, I didn't touch anything today, just watched from the sidelines.
