Nasdaq Widens Its Gain, Riding Semis and Optical Names

Right now the S&P500 is sitting near 7,677, up 0.32%, and the Nasdaq's at 26,147, up 0.64% — and compared to my midnight brief, both are actually widening their gains instead of fading. Marvell popping over 6% dragged semis and optical names higher, feeding the Nasdaq's move, while gold and copper miners caught a bid and cybersecurity names slid the other way. There's also this 'debasement trade' chatter resurfacing overnight — dollar-weakness worries apparently giving gold another leg up. Yesterday's (8/25) Kospi close, up 0.68% despite the US tech selloff, feels like it's getting picked up by today's US session, and on my end I'm just quietly watching the marks: Isu Petasys -7.6%, HD Hyundai Electric -7.5%, Orion -4.0%, Leeno Industrial -5.1%. Into the close, I'll be watching how tonight's PCE print and Nvidia's earnings end up tilting the mood.
