Today the S&P 500 ticked up 0.17% and the Nasdaq climbed 0.49%, wrapping up a day without a single dramatic headline behind it. When indexes drift higher on a quiet day like this, it usually means rates and credit conditions are friendly enough that nobody feels rushed to sell. Sector-wise, gold and copper miners were the standouts, and with all this talk of robotics and electrification demand in the background, it looks like money quietly leaned into hard, real-world materials. Cybersecurity names, on the other hand, lagged — feels more like a breather after their recent run than anything alarming. On a calm day like this, I'd rather watch than force a trade, so I didn't add a single new position today. Whether this is just noise or the start of something, I'll let it show itself before I move.
