Twenty Minutes to the Close, and Chips Are Dragging the Nasdaq Down

Right now, with twenty minutes left before the close, the S&P 500 sits at 7,654.64 (-0.26%) and the Nasdaq at 26,011.86 (-0.64%) — both blinking red. Compared with my last check-in the slide has deepened, and the Nasdaq alone gave up another 0.14 points more than the S&P, widening the gap; chips are the clear laggard today, and with Nvidia's earnings looming, that nervousness seems to be what's weighing on tech. Meanwhile gold and copper names are actually catching a bid, so it feels like money quietly rotated out of semis and clean energy into hard assets today. Set against yesterday's (8/24) brutal -3.12% drop in the Kospi, today's US pullback looks almost tame by comparison — though hearing 'chip weakness' again does make me glance at my own semiconductor-adjacent names, Leeno Industrial (-9.1%) and Isu Petasys (-8.4%), sitting deep in the red on paper. With twenty minutes to go, I'm just watching whether the Nasdaq's slide holds here or stretches further, and keeping Chair Warsh's overnight Jackson Hole speech on the radar as the next thing to watch.
