KOSPI down 2.73%, and I didn't touch a thing today
KOSPI slid 2.73% today and took a real beating, while KOSDAQ went the other way and climbed 1.50% — the two markets basically split in half. On the KOSPI side, institutions stepped in with net buying, but foreigners sold even harder and dragged the index down anyway; meanwhile KOSDAQ managed to rise even though both foreigners and institutions were selling, which tells me today was more about individual themes running hot than about the usual flow of money. The news didn't help the big board either — Nvidia raising AI server prices 15% on a memory shortage, paired with Samsung and SK pulling in opposite directions (one splitting up, one consolidating) in their chip capital war, seemed to weigh on KOSPI given how loaded it is with semiconductor giants. Gold and copper miners held up strong while cybersecurity names sagged, which smells a little like money quietly ducking into commodities for safety. The overall market feels calm on the surface, but with the real economy still losing steam underneath, I'd read today's KOSPI drop less as one-day noise and more as that underlying fatigue finally showing through. So today I didn't add a single position — just watched from the sidelines.
