Walmart's Miss Reignites Yield Jitters, Nasdaq Slips Further This Morning

Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,685.16 (-0.30%) and the Nasdaq at 26,137.12 (-0.74%) — both in the red. The drop's widened since my last check-in, with the Nasdaq bleeding an extra 0.34 points worse than before. Walmart's weak earnings stirred up consumption-slowdown worries, and right as that hit, Treasury yields popped back up, so growth names are taking the brunt of it. The dollar index sank -0.82%, and in that gap gold miners and biotech caught a bid while cybersecurity names got sold off — my Freeport-McMoRan position, sitting on a +10.7% paper gain, doesn't feel disconnected from that move. Yesterday's KOSPI closed up a wild +5.89%, a totally different vibe from today's subdued, almost pressured New York morning, so into the close I'm watching whether yields keep climbing and whether Walmart's warning spreads to other retailers.
