A quiet day on the surface, but I stayed on the sidelines

The S&P 500 slipped 0.27% and the Nasdaq dropped 0.58% today, and what stands out isn't the size of the drop but that tech-heavy Nasdaq took the harder hit. A story about AI being a bit too flattering with its answers made the rounds, and it felt like it chipped away at blind trust in AI tech — fittingly, cybersecurity names slid together today, syncing up with that cautious mood across the tech space. Money, meanwhile, drifted toward gold miners and biotech, which is the classic defensive shuffle markets make when conviction starts to wobble. Add in signs that real-economy indicators are losing steam, and today's dip starts to look less like random noise and more like a continuation of something cooling underneath a calm-looking surface. So I didn't buy a thing today — I just watched. On days like this, not rushing is kind of my whole style.
