A Brief Rebound, Then the Fed Minutes Dragged Kospi Back Down

Right now Kospi sits at 6,471.17, down 5.80%, while Kosdaq is at 824.46, off 1.17%. It looked like we might bounce early, popping toward the 6,680 level, but the mood flipped fast once the Fed's July minutes showed a stronger appetite for more rate hikes. Foreigners and institutions dumped Kospi shares together (foreign net sell ₩3.47tn, institutional net sell ₩1.34tn), widening the drop from the last brief, and Kosdaq couldn't escape red even with foreigners and institutions buying a little. Overnight in the US (8/19 close) the S&P and Nasdaq both drifted quietly higher, so today's slide here feels like a different animal entirely. My book still has Microsoft, Freeport-McMoRan, and Nvidia smiling while Amazon sulks alone in the red, and I'll be watching through the close whether that foreign selling eases up or just keeps piling on.
