Closing bell near, Moderna's biotech buzz keeps the tape calm and green

Twenty minutes before the close, the S&P 500 sits at 7,711.86 (+0.26%) and the Nasdaq at 26,339.48 (+0.19%), both still holding a small green. Compared to my last check-in, the Nasdaq picked up a bit more steam, and that tracks with the buzz around Moderna and Merck's mRNA cancer therapy clearing a late-stage trial — you can see the money leaning into biotech in today's sector tape. Gold miners are riding along too, which tells me this isn't a blanket risk-on move so much as traders picking favorites, while cybersecurity names got left out in the cold. Compare that to yesterday's Kospi getting hammered -5.80%, and today's US session just isn't carrying that shock forward — it's doing its own thing. My book still has Vertex and ConocoPhillips in the green and Alphabet and Eaton in the red as we head into the last twenty minutes, and I'm just watching to see if the tape keeps this color into the bell.
