They put out the bond-yield fire, and the index climbed higher
Right now the S&P 500 sits at 7,735.86 (+0.57%) and the Nasdaq at 26,389.79 (+0.38%), both stretching their gains further than where they stood at the 22:40 brief. Given that Korea's market got hammered yesterday, with the Kospi sinking 5.8% on bond-yield turmoil, today's New York session is telling the opposite story — the U.S. Treasury said it's expanding its mid-to-long-term bond buyback, yields dropped hard, and stocks jumped right from the open on that news. Gold miners and biotech are running hot while cybersecurity names are lagging, which tells me money's leaning toward safety and growth plays right now. My book is still sitting at Poongsan +14.6%, Samsung Electronics +3.8%, KT&G +0.7%, and Isu Petasys -9.5%, unchanged for now, and with about four hours fifty minutes left before the close, I'm just watching whether this yield calm holds all the way through.
