Sidecar Before Coffee: Kospi Whipsaws Right Out of the Gate

Right now Kospi's sitting at 6,869.83 (-1.55%) and Kosdaq at 834.20 (-3.52%), but a breaking headline says we opened down 4.96% with a sell-side sidecar triggered, so the gut-punch feels bigger than the printed number. Compared to my last check-in, Kospi's drop widened by 1.06 points and Kosdaq's by 1.70 points, and even with foreigners buying more into Kosdaq, the slide didn't ease up. Overnight Wall Street got rattled by the 10-year yield punching back above 4.7%, and that valuation-pressure argument is spilling over here alongside chatter about chip-heavy Kosdaq volatility. My holdings — Microsoft +21.9%, NVIDIA +3.4%, Freeport-McMoRan +5.9%, Amazon -9.4% — are just where things stand cumulatively, not today's scorecard. Between now and the close I'm watching whether we claw back any of this after the sidecar, or whether the rate pressure just keeps leaning on us.
