Right After the Holiday, KOSPI Reclaims 7,100 — I Picked Up 213420
Markets reopened after the holiday and KOSPI shot up 3.30%, stepping back over the 7,100 line. Foreigners poured in over 3 trillion won in a single day, lifting big names like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, and that chip-driven energy spilled straight into the quantum computing and AI themes, dragging the whole index higher with it. Institutions sold off more than 1 trillion won, but that got swallowed by the foreign buying wave, while KOSDAQ saw both foreigners and institutions selling lightly and barely held flat at +0.05% — same day, very different temperature between large caps and small caps. Cybersecurity names lost steam on the flip side, which tells me today's money was clearly chasing a specific theme rather than spreading evenly. With rates and credit conditions staying friendly and the broader market feeling calm, I'm reading this rally less as one-off noise and more as a continuation of the tailwind that was already blowing. In that mood, I added 213420 to my paper book today.
